Gilles Bertrand, the Beirut-based EU Chargé d’Affaires for Syria, talks about the European Union’s support for Syria, the aspirations of the Syrians that he met and his personal feelings upon leaving his assignment. Mr Bertrand will be replaced in September by Mr Dan Stoenescu, formerly the Romanian Ambassador to Tunisia.
