EU Beach Clean Up: Team Europe and the City of Rufisque are mobilizing for oceans without plastic waste!

Team Europe in Senegal in collaboration with the City of Rufisque (30 km from Dakar) organized the cleaning of a beach in the City as part of #EUBeachCleanUp.

More than 400 participants were present, including two green/citizen holiday camps in Rufisque, representatives of fishermen's associations and women fish processors from the beach, local and customary authorities, environmental youth associations, the National Society for Integrated Waste Management (SONAGED).

Around 10 tons of waste were collected by the participants and then collected by SONAGED.

Team Europe was strongly mobilized for this activity, with many colleagues from the Delegation of the European Union in Senegal and the Embassies of the Member States present on the ground alongside local stakeholders.
