EU Statement - Gaza, 220th Executive Board, UNESCO
- The EU recalls the European Council Conclusions of March, June, and 17 October 2024.
- The EU and its member states working as Team Europe have mobilised €940.8 million in humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian people since 7 October 2023 which focuses on four key areas: food, health, water, sanitation and hygiene, and shelter. Since the beginning of the crisis, the aid sent by EU member states has more than doubled, with additional funds totalling €678.6 million.
- The EU supports UNESCO’s engagement in emergency situations, within its area of competence and mandate.
