‘Addressing the Needs of Disadvantage People in Rural Communities in Central Province’ is an EU funded Project for a period of three years (2024-2026).
The project includes construction of new houses for health workers, maintenance of existing infrastructures, and trainings for health workers, implement awareness programs on community and health care works health promotion to healthy lifestyle and peace building efforts to promote rights of mothers, children, and young girls in Central Province.

OBJECTIVES
- Upgrade rural district hospitals with new facilities to serve the people and minimise maternal and infant mortality.
- Reduce deaths from non-communicable and curable diseases.
- Provide improved and basic healthcare services at their doorsteps.
- Increased number of women and girls accessing antenatal care, supervised delivery and postnatal and family planning.
- PHAs to deliver supervised trainings for community health workers using upgraded facilities.
- Carry out awareness on Health and Wellbeing of mothers.
- Improve the living conditions and overall well-being of health workers.
KEY EXPECTED RESULTS
- Strengthen health infrastructure and service delivery system at the district level.
- District and community healthcare workers trained, awareness carried out and mechanism put in place to collect accurate & updated information and data on trends including clinical indicators collected for future planning and service delivery.
- Community Awareness and Peace Building efforts in promoting rights of mothers, children and young girls (targeted groups at risk)
MAIN ACTIVITIES
- Construction of x3 new staff house in Health Centres at Bereina, Sogeri, and Kuriva.
- Construction of 1 x 2-bedroom Duplex at Woitape Health Centre.
- Construction of new maternity ward at Hula Health Centre
- Rehabilitate and upgrade existing rundown health centres at Porebada and Boku.
- Bore well redevelopment for access to clean water at Moreguina Health Centre
- Staff Training – Healthcare promotion training, in eight (8) health centres
- Awareness on capacity building for peace, Rights of Women Girls, Business/Leadership Training, Family Planning in the communities within the selected communities.
