In the name of Unity and Solidarity and of the Partnership with Mozambique, core values ​​of the European Union, the official event to celebrate Europe Day took place in Maputo, and its marked every year on the 9th May to remember the Schuman Declaration of 1950 , on the basis of the origin of the European Union.

The event was interactive, with guests from the diplomatic corps accredited in Mozambique, the government, civil society and the private sector, in which the performance of the dance group Tufo da Mafalala, live painting with the Mozambican artist Sebastião Coana, the interaction and exchange of views around the European Union's Global Gateway Strategy. There were also official speeches given by Ambassador Antonino Maggiore and the Minister of the Sea, Fisheries and Inland Waters, Lídia Cardoso, in which they both highlighted the central areas of the bilateral and multilateral partnership and toasted to a sustainable future and shared progress between Mozambique and the European Union. Recall that the theme of the Europe Day celebrations this year was “The European Year of Skills”.
