On Wednesday 16 October 2024, the European Union (EU) has signed a 55 million EUR financing agreement with the Government of Malawi. The Signing Ceremony represents a significant milestone in the partnership between Malawi and the EU, as it marks the resumption of EU budget support at a critical time for Malawi.

The European Union in Malawi has emphasized its commitment to promoting Occupational Safety and Health aimed at fostering the achievement of decent work conditions in Malawi.

On Tuesday 10 September, the EU Delegation to Malawi hosted a welcoming breakfast for its newest members; George Dura- Head of Cooperation, Cristina Chiorean-Head of Administration, Birgit Kowalewski- Head of Finance and Contracts and Carine Kasongo Mikemu- Financial Officer.

In 2023 four staff members of the EU Delegation to Malawi (Francis Kanthumba, Lovemary Mabasa, Margaret Mbiriyakula and Tomaida Msiska) completed 20 years of service in the European Union.
