Objectives

The programme is an integral part of the Malawi Democratic Governance Programme (Boma Lathu).

It specifically seeks to implement activities that will contribute to achieve Strategic Objective 2:  To support delivery of nationwide civic education and increase participation, in particular of women youth and disadvantaged groups, in democratic processes. More particularly, it will support the activities related to these results and outputs:

1. Increased awareness of civil and political rights and responsibilities of the general population.
2. Increased demand for transparency and accountability of duty bearers.
3. Increased number of women, youth and disadvantaged groups taking part in public decision-making.
4. National Civic Education framework and guiding policy (-ies) produced/revised and popularised.
