The European Union Delegation and the diplomatic missions of EU Member States to Libya welcome the announcement of the establishment and mandate of the Advisory Committee, an important step in the UN-facilitated, Libyan-led political process.

We commend the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) for this initiative and for its determination to ensure a balanced composition of the Committee.

We encourage all Libyan institutions and stakeholders to genuinely support the Committee’s work and to shield it from political interference. Alongside the broader structured dialogue launched by UNSMIL, the Committee can contribute to fostering a unified national vision, which is essential for advancing Libya toward national elections, institutional unification, and, ultimately, long-term stability and prosperity for the Libyan people.

We remain committed to supporting Libya and UNSMIL in our joint effort to advance economic reforms, promote national reconciliation, and facilitate the unification of the institutions, while ensuring transparency, consensus, and Libyan ownership throughout the process.
