Project Objective
The project aims to enhance environment, climate change and water policies in Central Asia through approximation to EU standards and to promote green investments in relevant sectors with the aim of contributing to measurable reductions in man-made pollution, including CO2 emission.
Main target groups
Public authorities, private sector producers, operators and investors, as well as civil society of Central Asia.
Project activities include:
- Support to the EU-Central Asia Platform for Environment and Water Cooperation: organisation of annual meetings of the EUCentral Asia Working Group on Environment and Climate Change (WGECC) and the 7th EU- CA High-Level Conference in 2022;
- Support to the EU Water Initiative National Policy Dialogues meetings organised by UNECE;
- Provision of trainings, policy advice, workshops and study tours at the request of Central Asia stakeholders to present EU environment policies and best practices
- Assistance in preparation of green investment projects for submission to International Financial Institutions (IFIs)
- Regularly update of the Regional Knowledge Centre, project website and Investor Guide

Expected results
- Improved environmental awareness among decision-makers, industry and civil society;
- Environmental policies and frameworks in Central Asia, including on water and climate change, improved;
- Environment friendly infrastructure investments contributing to measurable reduction in man-made pollution are identified, developed and submitted to IFIs for consideration.
