Private sector development and employment promotion/ development-oriented (re-)integration of the Iraqi youth

This action seeks to improve the employability of Iraqi youth while also seeking to promote economic reforms that support private sector development.

This action seeks to improve the employability of Iraqi youth while also seeking to promote economic reforms that support private sector development. It is jointly co-financed by the European Union (EU) and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and is implemented by the Germany Development Agency, the Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).  The action forms part of an existing BMZ funded project “Private sector development and employment promotion/ development-oriented (re-)integration of the Iraqi youth”.    

 

The overall objective of this action is to foster improved governance and promote sustainable, knowledge-based and inclusive economic growth in Iraq and has duration of 36 months. It has two specific objectives:

 

  1. The economic policy conditions for a growth-oriented business and investment climate are improved.

 

  1. Employment prospects in the private sector for young Iraqi are improved.
