The Delegation of the European Union (EU) to Indonesia is hosting the 16th edition of the European Higher Education Fair (EHEF). With the participation of 88 higher education institutions from 15 EU Member States, EHEF is the largest European study fair organised in Indonesia. Representatives from the Indonesian International Student Mobility Award (IISMA) scholarships will also participate in EHEF 2024. This year, EHEF is taking place in Yogyakarta on 30 October 2024 and Jakarta on 2-3 November 2024.

The European Union is proud to support Indonesia's vision of Indonesia Emas 2045 by strengthening ties in the field of education. Through the EHEF, we aim to offer Indonesian students access to world-class learning opportunities in Europe, fostering the skills and knowledge necessary to drive Indonesia's future growth and innovation,” said H.E. Denis Chaibi, EU Ambassador to Indonesia.

“The EU partnership with Indonesia on higher education is a successful one. Every year, over 4,000 Indonesian students enrol in European universities. More than 1,000 scholarships are provided annually to Indonesian students through the EU’s flagship Erasmus programme and while various scholarship programmes are also offered by the EU Member States,” added Ambassador Chaibi.

Education and research is a priority of the Global Gateway, the EU’s strategy for sustainable investments and links around the world. EHEF reflects the strong commitment of European institutions to promote higher education worldwide. It also highlights Team Europe cooperation to support Indonesian students, to encourage partnerships among higher education institutions, and to reinforce people-to-people links.

Europe’s higher education is known for its enabling research ecosystem and relevance to the labour market, business, science and governance. With more than 5,000 higher education institutions spread across the continent, Europe offers world-class education, with many courses delivered in English, innovative study programmes, advanced research, affordable tuition fees, and a vast range of scholarship opportunities.
