Opening Event of the European Month of Film 2024

Over 200 guests attended the opening event of the European Month of Film 2024 which was held in Bíó Paradís on 3 November 2024. This is the third time the European Month of Film is held. The festival will end on the 7 December 2024 when the European Film Awards are held in Lucerne, Switzerland.

 

The European Month of Film has started! For six weeks the European Month of Film, will celebrate the fantastic diversity of European films. Across Europe, over 100 flagship cinemas in 35 countries will screen a great variety of European films - from Reykjavík to Athens, Oslo to Nicosia. This is the third time the European Month of Film takes place and the festival will culminate on 7 December 2024 in the 37th European Film Awards in Lucerne.

Over 200 guests attended the very successful launch of the 2024 European Month of Film in Bíó Paradís on 3 November 2024, an event supported by the EU Delegation to Iceland.

This year's opening film was the french-swiss comedy film "Dog on Trial" directed by Laetitia Dosch. The film was premiered at the Cannes Int. Film Festival where it received the Palm Dog Award - a wordplay on Palm d'Or - award for the best canine performance! The film has received several award nominations in a number of film festivals in 2024.
