Ms Clara Ganslandt has handed over her credentials to the President of Iceland, Ms Halla Tómasdóttir, allowing her to formally take up her role as Ambassador.

The Ambassador discussed with the President about EU - Iceland relations, in particular the importance of the EEA-agreement and the benefits of Iceland's participation in EU programmes. Over 40 thousand Icelandic citizens, roughly 10% of Iceland's population, have participated directly in and contributed to EU funded programmes and projects such as Erasmus+.

After the handover of credentials to the President, the EU Delegation staff received an opportunity to greet the President.
