GITA and the European Union’s Collaboration to Unveil IT Ecosystem Development Project - Do IT with the EU

A cooperation agreement was recently endorsed between Georgia's Innovation and Technology Agency (GITA) and the European Union, marking the launch of a comprehensive IT ecosystem development plan - Do IT with the EU.

Under this initiative, supported by the European Union, more than 1,300 Georgian citizens will receive training in highly sought-after and lucratively compensated professions in the global market, including programming, project management, design and others. The program aims to transform the IT sector in Georgia by integrating world-class standards, fostering skill enhancement, and generating exceptional employment prospects for Georgian citizens. Great emphasis will be placed on the advancement of women within the realm of tech industry.

"This new partnership agreement not only facilitates renowned companies to enter the Georgian market, but it also presents local IT specialists with the opportunity to contribute to international projects and secure high-paying positions," stated Avtandil Kasradze, Chairman of Georgia's Innovation and Technology Agency.

The project consists of two parts: the first consists of the continuation of GITA's successful training program for 3000 IT specialists, and the second part, developed specifically within the framework of this project, dedicated to the enhancement of employment.

"The IT ecosystem development project represents a transformative leap in Georgia's IT sector’s future. This program will foster job creation by providing opportunities for innovators and entrepreneurs to collaborate with international IT firms, ultimately strengthening Georgia's competitive edge in the region," affirmed Nicholas Cendrowicz, Head of Cooperation at the European Union.

The "Do IT with the EU" program is set to commence in September, enabling over 1,300individuals to acquire international certifications and enhance their competitiveness in the global tech-market.
