Glimpses into some of the best moments from the EU Bushfire Schools Festival 2024, held on 30 May in Eswatini. It brought together more than 600 high school learners from 39 high schools and out-of-school youth from all four regions of the country. Inclusion, solidarity and co-creation marked the day, with teenagers from the refugee reception centre at Malindza and students with special needs participating in a day of creative art performances and workshops.

The EU organises this annual festival in partnership with Bushfire, one of the biggest music festivals in Africa. This year the festival focused on “The Art Effect – The transformative power of art”, in line with the EU’s partnership priorities in Eswatini: empowering the youth with skills they need to pursue employment or entrepreneurial goals, including in the creative industries.
