Photo exhibition: Inspirational Women in EU Institutions

Inspirational women featured in the exhibition include:
- Simone Veil, the President of the first directly elected European Parliament and the first female President
- Anna Lindh, the Swedish Foreign Affairs Minister and human rights advocate who supported the process of European integration
- Louise Weiss, the French journalist and European politician who became a champion of European values and women’s rights
- Marga Klompé, the Dutch politician, scientist and human rights advocate who worked to create the single market
- Nilde Iotti, the Italian stateswoman who fought for women’s rights, universal suffrage and direct European elections
- Melina Mercouri, a Greek actor and politician who campaigned for cultural cooperation across Europe
- Nicole Fontaine, the French politician and European Parliament president who campaigned for youth education and a citizens’ Europe
- Ursula Hirschmann, anti-fascist and feminist activist, who created the European Federalist Movement
- Federica Mogherini, former HR/VP, currently Rector of the College of Europe and Director of the European Diplomatic Academy, advocate for human rights and gender equality
- Ursula von der Leyen, a German physician and politician, currently serving as the 13th president of the European Commission since 2019
- Christine Lagarde, a French politician and lawyer who has served as President of the European Central Bank since 2019
- Roberta Metsola, current President of the European Parliament (elected in January 2022)
Apart from the tour of the exhibition, visitors will have an opportunity to chat with EU diplomats currently working in the EU foreign services. The lucky ones will meet the EU Ambassador to China (depending on his availability) and have the opportunity to ask him a question.
