Changhua - Reducing marine plastic litter by fishing-for-litter scheme
Video file
In the Fifth United Nations Environment Assembly in 2022, a historic resolution was endorsed to forge an international legally binding agreement to jointly end marine plastic pollution. In Changhua County of Hainan Province, China, there is also a group of fishermen who protect their home and environment through sustained efforts. Through their efforts, they hope to promote Changhua-model to the whole country, and even to the world, so that the vision of a plastic free ocean can be realized. Our cooperation pilot has the big honour to join hands with local fisherman and witness how they pursue that vision.
