Program in Support of the Resilience of Burundi Populations
In order to strengthen the resilience of the Burundian population, the European Union has mobilized more than 120 million euros for the Program in Support of the Resilience of Burundi Populations, which is the largest European program ever deployed using this approach in Burundi.
Through this program, the EU contributes to create the conditions for the sustainable development of the country and its citizens. Whether through the Tubehoneza component, which targets more than 2.4 million Burundians and whose objective is to reduce malnutrition and food insecurity, better manage natural disasters and strengthen intra-community relations; the Twiteho Amagara component, which targets the entire Burundian population since it aims at improving the accessibility and quality of health care in all the country’s health districts; or the Umuco w’Iterambere component, aimed at promoting access to a basic, modern and sustainable energy service (electricity and clean cooking) for around 0.5 million Burundians.
