The European Union’s relations with the Southern African Development Community (SADC) are political, economic, commercial and environmental. Historically, these relations were focused on promoting regional economic integration and infrastructure and have now expanded to cover peace and security, environmental stewardship, institutional strengthening, natural resource management, and trade and transport facilitation.
