EU-Botswana Partnership Dialogue

On 23 May 2024,the EU Ambassador to the Republic of Botswana and SADC, together with nine non-resident and two resident EU Member States Heads of Missions and Deputy Heads of Missions met with the Botswana Minister of Foreign Affairs and other senior government officials for the first Partnership Dialogue of the year 2024. This was the first Partnership Dialogue organised between Botswana and the EU under the Samoa Agreement signed on 15 November 2023 between the Africa, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States (ACP) and the EU, which Botswana signed in December 2023.

The Partnership Dialogue included open and candid discussions on elections, human rights, regional, global and multilateral affairs and natural resources. Speaking at the meeting, EU Ambassador, Petra Pereyra emphasised the European Union's commitment to deliver on its commitments and strategic priorities for the period 2021-2027 as to Green Transformation and Economic Diversification and to further deepen its cooperation and enhance Botswana's economic resilience.
