The European Union Delegation to Botswana and SADC in partnership with the Botswana Investment and Trade Centre (BITC) is organising the first edition of the EU-Botswana Business Forum on 11-12 October 2023 in Gaborone. The event will offer a space to explore new investment and trade opportunities for captains of industry, investors, private sector organisations, chambers of commerce, public institutions, policymakers, and financial institutions. The delegates will share their experiences, explore ways to strengthen cooperation, network and exchange ideas on trade and investment topics such as business development strategies, industry trends, market opportunities and special economic development.

Up to 500 European and Botswana investors and enterprises are expected at the EBBF, which will be held during the annual Global Expo Botswana, the leading trade and investment expo in the country. The EBBF is a unique opportunity for networking and discussion with audience participation and interaction opportunities across each session’s design.

The objectives of the EBBF are to: 1) boost foreign direct investment in Botswana across all sectors; 2) diversify exports from Botswana to the EU and to other EPA countries; and 3) raise awareness in the EU business sectors of the great opportunities offered by Botswana.

In addition, the EBBF will give guests the opportunity to participate in Business-to-Business sessions, roundtables and informative workshops in sectors such as:

• Financial & business services
• Automotive & e-mobility
• Digital & innovation
• Mining sector
