ABOUT US
Who we are
The Delegation of the European Union to Cambodia is a full-fledged diplomatic mission. The EU has a long-standing relationship with Cambodia. Through substantial development assistance, support to democratic and good governance processes, and a commitment to open markets, the EU assists Cambodia in its efforts to build a brighter future for its population.
What we do
Diplomatic Affairs
The main role of the Delegations is to represent the EU. It is responsible for all policy areas: political, economic, development, trade or human rights.
Economic Affairs
The EU is one of Cambodia's biggest trading partners. The Delegation coordinates on a regular basis with the Government and other stakeholders on issues related to market access, regulation, investment and international trade.
Cooperation
The Delegation leads the preparation of the EU-Cambodia development cooperation programmes and manages the implementation of development actions supported by the EU in the country. EU programmes cover a wide range of areas: education, agriculture and natural resource management, governance, human rights, public finance management, private sector development and climate change.
The EU is Cambodia's largest partner in terms of grant development assistance. Every year the EU, through the EU Delegation, contributes between €40 and €50 million to support Cambodia's development.
Public diplomacy and cultural affairs
The Delegation carries out a programme of activities in order to give Cambodians the opportunity to discover European democratic values and Europe's rich cultural heritage.
